About me
Hi, IβM manuela
Iβm a watercolour artist based in Abu Dhabi, originally from Italy. My paintings are inspired by nature's colours, beauty and strength. Just like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, nature constantly shows us the possibility of new beginnings and that hope can bloom at any time, even in the most unexpected moments.
The name βAlma Coloursβ (Alma meaning soul) comes from the idea that natureβs colours have a unique way of reaching the soul, offering tranquillity, comfort, and endless inspiration. Painting is my way of capturing fleeting moments of beauty with my paint and brushes, turning them into something lasting and meaningful.
I hope that same sense of peace and wonder flows through my art and finds its way to you.
βArt enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.β
MY COLOURS
My life philosophy
Kindness is my favourite colour in my palette; it shades everything I do. Itβs something I try to instil in my children and carry with me in all aspects of life β never judge, always be kind.
What I enjoy doing when Iβm not painting
I love playing the piano, listening to music, writing, and cooking β Iβm Italian; itβs in my DNA, after all!
A highlight from my artistic journey
One of the most exciting moments was placing in the top three of the St Cuthberts Mill 'Draw this in your style' challenge. It was such a thrill, making me feel like my art was connecting with people beyond my own little world. You can see the painting by clicking here, and if you're interested, you can read the full story on their blog here.
A fun fact about me
Iβm a massive Disney fan! Iβve watched every single movie, and they never get old. I love the magic, the music, and the happy endings; they remind me that thereβs always a little wonder waiting to be found in everyday life.
My Inspiration
My family, my "4 Musketeers", my rock. Theyβre my biggest fans, my muses, and a daily reminder that love and laughter are everything. Without them, none of this would be possible. Their endless support gives me the strength to climb any mountain (though I wonβt be climbing Mount Everest anytime soon!).
Favourite quote about art
βEvery artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.β by Henry Ward Beecher. This quote sums up how I feel about art β itβs an extension of who we are, with each piece telling a little bit of our story.
